About Bancroft Arnesen Explore

Bancroft Arnesen Explore, a yourexpedition brand, is a series of programs designed to enable Bancroft and Arnesen to share their stories of adventure and inspire other women and girls -- and the adventurer in everyone -- to follow their dreams. As young girls, Bancroft and Arnesen read a recount of Sir Ernest Shackleton's legendary attempt to cross Antarctica that stirred their imaginations. Despite being completely unaware of one another, they both declared the same childhood dream: to ski across Antarctica. On Nov. 13, 2000, the explorers landed on Antarctica with the intent to cross the continent. Delayed by unusually calm wind conditions and occasional blizzards, Bancroft and Arnesen made history on Feb. 11 by becoming the first women to ski and sail across Antarctica's landmass land·mass
