88 Years Old, Wisconsin Grandmother Gearing up for Olympic-Distance Triathlon; Broken Leg Won't Keep Her from 2006 Life Time Fitness Triathlon on July 15.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- At 88 years old, Mary Stroebe is in better shape than many Americans one-fourth her age. In July, she will travel to Lake Nokomis in South Minneapolis to run, bike, and swim in an event hosted by Life Time Fitness, Inc. (NYSE:LTM), a national operator of distinctive and large health and fitness centers. Alongside 40 professional and some 2,500 amateur triathletes, Mary will compete in the 2006 Life Time Fitness Triathlon, one of America's most prominent Olympic-distance endurance competitions.

The professional winner of the event will earn a $200,000-value cash and prize purse, one of the most lucrative awards in the sport, but Mary Stroebe isn't in it for the money. "She is an inspiration to everyone who knows her story," says her son Bruce, who runs alongside her in every race. "Her energy and spirit are unlike any other I've ever seen. She's tough to keep up with!"

Challenges are nothing new to Mary. She has finished the Life Time Fitness Triathlon for the last four years in a row, finishing first in her age group each time. She has competed despite breaking her hip in 2001, sporting stitches in her hand in 2003 and once again this year, even after breaking her leg while skiing this past winter. In addition to all of that, Mary is a breast cancer survivor.
