88 HIGH SCHOOLERS NAMED SPOTLIGHT AWARDS SEMIFINALISTS.

More than 300 high school students entered this year's contests.

Burbank-based Walter Lantz Walter Lantz (April 27 1899[1] – March 22 1994) was an American cartoonist and animator, best known for founding the Walter Lantz Studio and creating Woody Woodpecker.  Foundation donated do·nate

 $25,000 for awards to the winners.

Submissions were judged by arts and photography professionals.

Since 1997, the top-winning designs have been installed as murals in the Music Center garage.

Seven finalists will be chosen in each category, and winners will be announced Thursday, March 6.
