8-MAN FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: FULTON PREP WINS INAUGURAL CITY TITLE.

Running back Jaoquin Briceno had 261total yards and scored five touchdowns to lead visiting Fulton Prep of Van Nuys to a 62-34 victory against Annenberg of Watts in the inaugural City Section 8-Man Championship game at Contreras Learning Complex in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  on Friday.

Briceno rushed 12 times for 136 yards, including scoring runs of 11, 39 and 20 yards. He also had kickoff returns of 62 and 63 yards for touchdowns.

"I don't have any words to describe how I feel right now," said Briceno, a senior who had not played organized football before this season. "I didn't think we would win it all because, this a first-year program, but we worked hard for it."

This was a far departure for Fulton Prep (8-4), which opened the season with a 60-6 loss to Dunn of Los Olivos

Receiver Julio Perez had scoring catches of 40 and 18 yards. Perez, one of two players who had ever played organized football before this season, caught eight passes for 176 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Eddie Nixon had put Joshua Springs (12-0-1) ahead 8-6 on a 76-yard kickoff return just 12 seconds after Nick Wallin opened the Faith Baptist scoring with a two-yard run.

Faith Baptist (12-1) had taken a 24-14 lead on two second-quarter touchdowns by Jason Leigh -- a 65-yard run and seven-yard reception -- but could not overcome the mud and fog that hampered both teams.
