(Toronto, ON) has acquired Greenhaven Press (San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay. , CA) and subsidiary Lucent Books, privately-held book publishers of social science and other non-fiction series for middle and high school students. No terms were given. While separate legal entities, the two companies are managed as a single operation under the name Greenhaven. Established in 1970, Greenhaven publishes literary and current events series while Lucent focuses on the biography, world history and topics overview segments.
