76ers' woes continue with loss to MavsTake Chris Webber out of a Philadelphia lineup without Allen Iverson, and the 76ers couldn't break their longest losing streak in 10 years no matter how sluggish the Dallas Mavericks played at times. Jason Terry scored 18 points to lead six Dallas players in double figures and the Mavericks built a big early lead en route to a 93-79 victory Friday night, the 10th straight loss for the 76ers. Philadelphia has lost the last five games since Iverson, the 2001 NBA MVP and the face of the franchise for 11 seasons, demanded a trade and was sent home by the 76ers while they try to fulfill his request. It is the longest losing streak for the 76ers since they dropped 13 games in a row from Dec. 28, 1996, through Jan. 20, 1997, during Iverson's rookie year. Dallas has consecutive wins for the first time in December, having alternated losses and wins its past six games since a 12-game winning streak. The Mavericks never trailed in a 110-101 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. Already without A.I., the 76ers played at Dallas without starting forward Webber, who has a sprained right ankle. Philadelphia still managed to get within three points late in the third quarter before Dallas pulled away again. Andre Iguodala led Philadelphia with 17 points, and Willie Green and Samuel Dalembert each had 16. Josh Howard had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Mavs, while Dirk Nowitzki (on 5-of-14 shooting), Devin Harris and Greg Buckner had 13 points apiece. Erick Dampier had 12 points and eight rebounds. Webber got hurt in Wednesday night's game against Boston. He missed practice Thursday and Friday morning's shootaround, though he did some shooting on the court before the game. Kyle Korver started in his place and had 13 points. Korver made a 23-footer on Philadelphia's first shot 33 seconds into the game, and Mavs coach Avery Johnson quickly called a timeout. The 76ers made the first three shots and led 6-2. Terry then sparked the Mavericks to 21 straight points over a seven-minute span and they led the rest of the way _ though Philadelphia got within 61-58 after Green hit a 15-foot jumper with 2:35 left in the third quarter. Dampier's layup put the Mavericks up 53-36 right after halftime before Dalembert made a short hook shot and had a slam dunk, part of his eight points in a 22-8 run for the 76ers that ended with Green's basket. Terry then hit a 3-pointer and Philadelphia never got closer. During the first-quarter run that put Dallas up 23-6, Terry had a pair of 3-pointers that sandwiched his assist to Harris for a fast-break slam. The 76ers had only 11 points in the first quarter, the lowest for a Mavericks opponent in any quarter this season. Philadelphia's 34 at halftime, when it trailed by 15 points, was the lowest first-half total against Dallas this season. Notes:@ A moment of silence was observed before the game in memory of Lamar Hunt, the NFL pioneer and Kansas Chiefs owner who lived in Dallas. Hunt died Wednesday night. ... The 76ers have lost nine straight road games. The last time they lost nine in a row on the road was the 1996-97 season, part of their 13-game losing streak. They play at San Antonio on Saturday night. ... The Mavs are 5-0 in the second game of back-to-backs this season. They play Saturday night in New Orleans, coach Avery Johnson's hometown.
