The 76ers have a remarkable edge in Allen Iverson <noinclude></noinclude> Allen Ezail Iverson (born June 7, 1975, in Hampton, Virginia[1]), nicknamed A.I. and The Answer, is an American professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association. , but despite a game- high 35 points and 12 rebounds, which tied the game high, Sunday night Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, was an NBC late-night television show which aired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists.  in Game 3 of the NBA Finals The NBA Finals is the championship series of the National Basketball Association.

The team winning the Eastern Conference Finals earns one of the two berths in the championship round, with the other going to the team that wins the Western Conference Finals.
, he struggled down the stretch.

Iverson made only 2 of 7 field goals in the fourth quarter as the Sixers desperately tried to catch the Lakers. He missed on 3 of 4 from the 3-point line.

And although active throughout, he did not hit a basket in the final five minutes of play.

Without him, the Sixers struggled to find enough offense to complete their frantic rally. They hit on just 6 of 20 field goals (30 percent) in the fourth quarter.

``It's not frustrating,'' Iverson said. ``We've come too far to be frustrated now. A lot of times in this sport, once you get frustrated and your mind gets away from the game, you already lost before the game even starts.''

--Calling Willis Reed Willis Reed Jr. (born June 25, 1942) is a former American basketball player and a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Early years
Reed was born in Hico, Louisiana. While Reed was growing up on a farm in nearby Bernice, the Knicks were floundering.
: Ex-Laker George Lynch George Lynch may refer to:
  • George Lynch (basketball) (born 1970)
  • George Lynch (musician) (born 1954)
  • George Lynch (race car driver) (1918–1997)
, out since breaking a bone in his left foot on May 13, hopes to play for the Sixers in Game 4 on Wednesday.

Jumaine Jones Jumaine Lanard Jones (born February 10 1979, in Cocoa, Florida) is an American professional basketball player. He is currently a free agent after playing for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. His position is small forward, but he plays power forward occasionally.  has been starting at small forward for Lynch, who was averaging 6.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in the playoffs, before injuring his foot in Game 4 against Toronto.

Lynch hopes to practice with the Sixers the next two days and be able to play about 15 minutes on Wednesday.

``It's been pretty hard sitting and watching,'' Lynch said. ``But I worked all year and gave it my all. It would have been harder if we'd lost to Toronto or Milwaukee.''

Brown said he'd have to see how Lynch practiced before deciding whether he would go in Game 3.

``We'll see how it goes,'' Brown said. ``I'm hopeful that he can dress on Wednesday. That would be great. I know he wants it very badly. It would be a neat thing.''

--Body him up: Kobe Bryant Kobe Bean Bryant (born July 23 1978(1978--)) is an American All-Star shooting guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.  has found a tighter, more physical defensive scheme by the Sixers than anything he saw during the Western Conference playoffs.

Sixer Aaron McKie Aaron Fitzgerald McKie (born October 2 1972, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a former American professional basketball player and current assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA.  has done the majority of the defensive work on Bryant, who played in pickup games against McKie while he was at Temple and Bryant still in high school.

``You could see then he was a talent,'' McKie said. ``He was flashy with the ball and could shoot. But he was thin and you give him a little body, and he'd be out of it.

``Now I just try to mix it up, because he's a smart player.''

--To hack, or not to hack: Brown hasn't employed the hack-a-Shaq popularized by Dallas Mavericks coach Don Nelson on Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal.

``If he catches the ball in deep and he's gonna hurt us, rather than have him dunk the ball, if you have fouls to give, I think you have to play basketball and take a foul,'' Brown said.

``But to have him run down the court every time and us grab and hold, I'm just not going to do that. ... I'm not going to make a farce of the game. I believe the kid will make the shots. I think he's a phenomenal player, so I'd rather have people beat us on basketball plays.''

--Odds and ends: Jesse Jackson met privately with Allen Iverson in a corner of the Sixers locker room for a few minutes prior to Sunday's game. ... Despite Robert Horry's 15 points Sunday, the Sixers bench outscored L.A.'s for the third consecutive game, this time 23-20.
