74th Annual Southeast Regional held in Nashville.


Nearly 150 metalcasters convened in Nashville at the downtown Hilton February 15-17 for the 74th annual AFS A distributed file system for large, widely dispersed Unix and Windows networks from Transarc Corporation, now part of IBM. It is noted for its ease of administration and expandability and stems from Carnegie-Mellon's Andrew File System.

 Southeast Regional meeting. The theme for this year's regional was "Our Industry in a Global Market." Attendees listened to presentations on global supply chain management, materials availability in the global marketplace and an overview of the current world trade situation.

Prior to the meetings on Feb. 15, 60 metalcasters met with state EPA EPA eicosapentaenoic acid.

 regulators at the Nashville Region for a Beneficial Re-Use Forum. The meeting was sponsored by EPA Region 4, FIRST (Foundry Industry Recycling Starts Today) and the Tennessee Valley Authority Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), independent U.S. government corporate agency, created in 1933 by act of Congress; it is responsible for the integrated development of the Tennessee River basin. .

The morning sessions on Feb. 16 focused on the global market from a number of perspectives including supply chain management, ferrous ferrous (fĕr`əs), iron in the +2 valence state.

Afternoon sessions focused on safety issues ranging from melt deck concerns to the safe use of chemical binder systems. , closed the technical sessions portion with a presentation on OSHA's silica silica or silicon dioxide, chemical compound, SiO2. It is insoluble in water, slightly soluble in alkalies, and soluble in dilute hydrofluoric acid. Pure silica is colorless to white.  standard and preventing/reducing exposure to silica.

On Feb. 17, attendees had the opportunity to tour the Peterbilt plant in Nashville.
