These Windows-powered personal digital assistants (PDAs) were featured at the launch of Microsoft Corporation's Pocket PC held at Grand Central Station.

Continuing 724 Solution's strategy to create a compelling, personalized and secure consumer experience for the mobile space, its Financial Services Platform is designed to run on a wide range of Internet-enabled device and platforms. Running in the new Pocket Internet Explorer environment, the 724 Solutions software allowed end-users to test drive this new feature-rich generation of handhelds, such as Casio's E115, to conduct banking transactions, obtain stock quotes, and access information such as weather updates and news.

Sporting an enriched 64k color screen and support for wireless networking, the new HP Jornada 540 Series Color Pocket PCs were also unveiled as one of the new breed of handheld PCs that offer expanded functionality and usage beyond that of traditional personal digital assistants. 724 Solutions demonstrated its wireless banking and brokerage solution by attaching a Digital Phone Card plug-in from Socket Communications to the device. The Digital Phone Card enables the HP Jornada Pocket PC's built-in browser to take advantage of a variety of data-capable mobile phones for wireless Internet access.
