7 GANG MEMBER SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN BEATING AT PARTY.

Seven young men and teen-agers, who police say are area gang members, have been arrested on suspicion of attacking and beating three people at a party in Thousand Oaks earlier this month, officials reported Saturday.

Sgt. Mike De Los Santos, who heads the anti-gang unit for the East Valley sheriff's station, said about 10 gang members and associates crashed a party in the 3000 block of Birdsong birdsong. Song, call notes, and certain mechanical sounds constitute the language of birds. Song is produced in the syrinx, whose firm walls are derived from the rings of the trachea, and is modified by the larynx and tongue. The membranes of the syrinx are controlled by slender muscles; in the oscines, or song birds, there may be as many as eight pairs of these muscles, whereas other birds have four or fewer. Avenue on March 3.

Witnesses told police that the host turned away the intruders, but they returned, barged into the home and began yelling gang slogans.

De Los Santos said the suspects then targeted a particular victim and began pummeling him. Two other victims were beaten when they tried to stop the fight. Injuries to the victims included cuts, bruises, chipped teeth and a nose fracture.

The assailants then fled in several vehicles. Later that evening, police said one of the suspects refused to pull over when he was spotted driving.

Police said 21-year-old Jason Powers drove erratically and turned off the headlights on his vehicle as they pursued him.

Powers was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving reckless driving n. operation of an automobile in a dangerous manner under the circumstances, including speeding (or going too fast for the conditions, even though within the posted speed limit), driving after drinking (but not drunk), having too many passengers in the car, cutting in and out of traffic, failing to yield to other vehicles, and other negligent acts. It is a misdemeanor crime. when he pulled into the driveway at his home in Thousand Oaks, police said.

A passenger in his vehicle, Michael Martin, 19, of Thousand Oaks, was identified as one of the suspects in the beating, authorities said.

Police said Martin was arrested on suspicion of felony battery.

De Los Santos said police continued their investigation into the beatings, and identified five additional suspects who were arrested Friday evening at their homes or at the homes of friends on suspicion of conspiracy and felony battery.

Police identified those suspects as: Brady Willmon, 19, of Chatsworth; Kevin Thompson, 21, of Thousand Oaks; two 17-year-old males from Newbury Park, and a 17-year-old male from Camarillo.

The adults are being held at Ventura County Jail on $50,000 bail, police said. The juveniles, whose names were not released because of their ages, were booked into Juvenile Hall pending a court hearing.
