7 DEAD IN WEEKEND OF ROAD CARNAGE; Tree horror crash adds to tragic toll.

Byline: Jack Mathieson

THE death toll from a weekend of carnage on Scotland's roads rose to seven after a young man died in a smash yesterday.

The victim, in his 20s, was in a car which ploughed into a tree in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire, about 4am.

No other vehicle was involved.

The accident came after four crashes between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning which left six people dead and one on life support.

Yesterday, the families of two teenagers and a woman who died in a head-on smash were trying to come to terms with the tragedy.
