2009, whereas, 3402 court absconder have also been arrested who were
involved in different cases including 17 of murder, 15 dacoity, 47 of
robbery and two of kidnapping for ransom, during this period. As compare
to last year 2008 in which during first eight months 4486 proclaimed
offenders were arrested in which 232 cases of murder, 98 of dacoity, 252
of robbery and 20 of kidnapping for ransom. Whereas, in first eight
months of last year 2008, about 2176 court absconders had also been
arrested including 12 of murder, 11 of dacoity, one of kidnapping for
ransom and 35 of robbery. It was disclosed in a special meeting of
senior police officers held under the chairmanship of Capital City

Dr. Shoaib Dastagir informed the CCPO CCPO Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography (Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA)CCPO Climate Change Projects Office (UK) CCPO Capital City Police Officer (Pakistan) , Lahore that Investigation Wing of Lahore Police, during current year upto May in a special campaign against criminals, registered 217 cases of murder and 89 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challan remained 41 percent, upto June, this year, 264 cases were registered and 136 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challan remained 52 percent, upto July, this year, 315 cases were registered and 190 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challans remained 60 percent. Upto August this year, 371 cases were registered and 245 were challaned and the percentage of challans remained 66 percent, whereas, the percentage remained 52 percent in last year August 2008. During current year upto May, this year, 15 cases of kidnapping for ransom were registered and 10 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challan remained 67 percent, upto June, this year, 17 cases were registered and 13 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challan remained 76 percent, upto July, this year, 20 cases were registered and 16 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challans remained 80 percent, Upto August, this year, 24 cases were registered and 18 were challaned and the percentage of challans remained 75 percent, whereas, the percentage remained 76 percent in last year August 2008. During current year upto May, this year, 28 cases of dacoity-cum-murder were registered and 7 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challan remained 25 percent, upto June, this year, 34 cases were registered and 14 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challan remained 40 percent, upto July, this year, 40 cases were registered and 17 were challaned and the percentage of submission of challans remained 43 percent, Upto August, this year, 42 cases were registered and 23 were challaned and the percentage of challans remained 55 percent, whereas, the percentage remained 33 percent in last year, August 2008.
