60 terrorists killed, five soldiers embrace shahadat in SWA Troops push upto Mandana,Kund and Tarakai.


RAWALPINDI, October 18, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Sixty terrorists of banned Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan led by Hakimullah Mehsud were killed in operation Rah-e-Nijat in South Waziristan South Waziristan (Urdu: جنوبی وزیرستان) is the southern part of Waziristan, a mountainous region of northwest Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan and covering some 11 585 km² (4,473 mi²).  during the last 24 hours. Five soldiers embraced Shahadat and eleven were injured. Several IEDs and mines have been recovered. A number of vehicles under use of terrorists have also been destroyed. Sources in Political Administration of South Waziristan said due to security forces advance, terrorists are vacating their posts and area leaving behind arms and ammunition.  press release further said that villages and hutments enroute are being cleared by the advancing security forces by conducting search and clearance operation. It said civilians are not being targeted. In some areas people including women raised white flags and they were let off after search.
