Construction firms seek Opportunities in the Middle East

Construction companies from Malaysia will display their internationally demonstrated capabilities in infrastructure development at the second Malaysia Services Exhibition (MSE 2009) held from March 17 to 19 at the Dubai Airport Expo in the United Arab Emirates.

Nineteen companies, specialising in construction and associated services, are participating in the exhibition, with the aim to identify potential partnerships and assume a greater role in developmental projects across the Middle East and adjoining regions.

MSE 2009 follows the success of the first such exhibition held in Sharjah in 2008. The exhibition, organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE MATRADE Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation ), will bring a range of services from 13 industry clusters, bearing the Malaysian hallmark of excellence, under a single roof.

The construction cluster at MSE 2009 will include service providers that have lead Malaysia's successful forays into the global construction market. Together these companies have completed a big numbers of projects in 20 in the Middle East and worldwide as well. ), a government agency in charge of promoting, stimulating and facilitating the export of Malaysia constructions services, a total of 60 projects worth more than US$12 billion were completed by Malaysian companies in West Asia over the last 6 years.

Noraslan Hadi Abdul Kadir, Consul General and Trade Commissioner of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Dubai said that MSE 2009 will be an excellent opportunity for countries in the Middle East, North Africa and CIS Cis (sĭs), same as Kish (1.)

"Malaysian construction companies are keen to forge partnerships and strengthen their presence in the Middle East as the region is launching exciting and challenging development initiatives. MSE 2009 will provide them a platform to network with existing and potential partners as well as expand throughout the region," Mr. Abdul Kadir added.

Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) and the Master Builders Association of Malaysia will co-ordinate the industry representation at MSE 2009. CIDB will also host a forum on the second day of the exhibition to deliberate on the experiences and expertise of the Malaysian construction industry to delegates and visitors. Ir YBhg Tan Sri Jamilus Hussien, Chairman, CIDB, will be the speaker at the forum.
