DIY may save you cash, but it also causes rows with your partner, according to a survey.

Six in 10 couples fall out over odd jobs - with arguments about unfinished work, noise and mess.

The biggest cause for concern is giving in when the task becomes more difficult than imagined, with a third of couples rowing about that.

And 31 per cent argue over leaving mess, the Electrical Contractors' Association poll found. But 27 per cent were more miffed if their partner did no home jobs at all. Sometimes you just can't win...
