6 to be honored by women's bar.The New Hampshire Women's Bar Association will recognize six women as trailblazers in the law profession at its April 10 anniversary gala at C.R. Sparks in Bedford. The honorees will be: * Kelly A. Ayotte, the first female New Hampshire attorney general * Jean K. Burling, the first woman attorney to be appointed to a judicial position in New Hampshire and thereafter served every level of the state courts, including as a substitute justice of the Supreme Court * Susan B. Carbon, chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association's Task Force on Women in the Bar and author of its 1993 report on gender equality * Linda S. Dalianis, the first woman to hold a seat on the New Hampshire Supreme Court * Maureen Raiche Manning and Jennifer L. Parent, both organizers of the NHWBA as well as its first and second presidents, respectively. Keynote speaker will be Pamela J. Roberts, chair of the American Bar Association's Commission on Women in the Profession, which was created in August 1987 to assess the status of women in the legal profession, identifying barriers to advancement and recommending corrective actions to the ABA.
