The Turkish Welsh Society is holding its Christmas party on December 4 at 7.30pm.

It is due to take place at the Mackintosh Residents' Association, Keppoch Street, off City Road, Cardiff.

Admission is pounds 6 and you are asked to bring food and a bottle.

A FUSION of music and cultures is set to celebrate the bond between Wales and Japan.

Following the rugby match between the two countries, international musicians are performing as part of Japan Week - to mark the rugby team's visit and the opening of the Wales Millennium Centre The Wales Millennium Centre (Welsh: Canolfan Mileniwm Cymru) is a centre for the performing arts located on the Cardiff Bay waterfront. Opened in November 2004, it has hosted performances of opera, ballet, dance, comedy and musicals. .

Fusion in Strings, a concert boasting koto koto (kō`tō), a Japanese string instrument related in structure to the zither. It consists of an elongated rectangular wooden body, strung lengthwise with 7 to 13 silk strings.  and harp players, is on at the Gate, Roath, on Monday, November 29 - and the Japanese rugby team has been invited along.

 Hiroko Sue, who was a hit at last year's sell-out concert at the Old Library, is performing alongside Celtic harp player Bethan Myfanwy Gwyneth Hughes and traditional harpist Mali Llywelyn.

Tickets are pounds 6 for adults and pounds 3.50 for children and concessions. The music begins at 7pm at the venue at Plasnewydd Square, off Keppoch Street.

A COMMUNITY centre will be providing information and advice for people aged fifty and over.

Severn Road Centre in Canton will be offering the service called 'Focus 50', between 11am and 2.30pm on Wednesday November 24.

People will be able to get advice on employment opportunities as well as benefits and pensions information.

The centre is above Severn Road Junior School.
