5.7 Million People Now Receive Prescription Drug Coverage Through UnitedHealth Group's Medicare Part D Drug Plans.

After the conclusion of the initial enrollment period for the new Medicare Prescription Drug Program (Part D), more than 5.7 million Medicare beneficiaries are enrolled in plans offered by UnitedHealth Group.

Offering plans with no deductible, premiums at or below the national average, simple and predictable co-payments, an extensive network of more than 54,000 retail and independent pharmacies, access to drug formularies that include virtually all Part D-approved drugs, and the support of strong partners positioned the Company to achieve the following results:

--More than 4.5 million receiving Part D coverage through stand-alone prescription drug plans, including 3.2 million in the AARP AARP, a nonprofit, nonpartisan national organization dedicated to "enriching the experience of aging"; membership is open to people age 50 or older. U.S. government programs in effect since 1966. Medicare covers most people 65 or older and those with long-term disabilities. Part A, a hospital insurance plan, also pays for home health visits and hospice care.
 Services, more than 38 million Medicare beneficiaries now have comprehensive prescription drug coverage. Many Medicare beneficiaries without prescription drug coverage may still enroll in a Part D plan without penalty, including:

--People who turn 65 after May 15.

--People who qualify for extra financial help.

--People who receive a notice that their current, "creditable" drug coverage is ending.

--People who move out of their plan's service area.

For all others, the next opportunity to enroll will be between November 15, 2006 and December 31, 2006. Medicare beneficiaries are strongly encouraged to consider the value of signing up when enrollment is re-opened in November. For those enrolling in a Part D plan after November 15, their coverage will be active starting January 1, 2007.
