5 charged in slayings of 2 boys in Mich.

Five people were charged with murder Monday in the shooting deaths of two boys whose bodies were found inside a ransacked home.

Investigators said they believe drugs and money were the motives in the deaths of Orlando Herron, 13, and Darren Johnson, 12, who were found shot in the head on Friday.

Sonya O'Neal, 38; Deandre Witherspoon, 23; Torrisandois Lyons, 42; Robert Reed, 36; and Charles Moore, 38; all from Detroit, were each charged with two counts of felony murder and premeditated murder. They also faced kidnapping and other charges.

Their arraignment was scheduled for Tuesday.

A third shooting victim, a 23-year-old Detroit man who has not been named, was discovered tied up in the house with wounds to his arm, leg and chest. He was in a hospital in serious condition, prosecutors said.

Police said three other people also were assaulted, but did not identify them or provide details.
