Slow to warm to her task in the first furlong furlong: see English units of measurement. and held up by Pat Smullen, she quickened well to challenge and edged ahead early in the final furlong The content may change substantially as more information becomes available. before being collared late and beaten a head. Compensation awaits this attractive daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar. MOURAD: JOHN Oxx's second string on his debut at Roscommon, this Sinndar colt shaped with plenty of promise when pipping his better-fancied stable-companion for second spot behind the potentially useful Daasij. Suited by that mile and a half test and sure to improve from the experience, he looks capable of landing a similar maiden in the coming weeks. WHAT'S UP PUSSYCAT: DEFINITE signs of inexperience as this Danehill Dancer filly tasted racecourse action for the first time at Sligo on Wednesday. Despite running green, she looked likely to sweep past the experienced Barack in the final furlong, but couldn't get to grips with her rival. A creditable second, she finished 10 lengths clear of third and, although not among David Wachman's leading juveniles, should have little difficulty earning a winning bracket. CARRAIGOONA: WELL-TOUTED before making her seasonal debut at Roscommon and carrying the familiar black and blue Haughey colours, this Rock Of Gibraltar filly chased home Rugged Stuff in a 10-furlong handicap. Hampered when held inside the final furlong, it was a solid comeback run and suggested that a handicap win at a similar level should be achievable. LUNDUV: A Ballylich Stud-owned Pivotal filly, she made a pleasing start to her career when runner-up to Mystical Lady in a seven-furlong Leopardstown maiden on Wednesday. No match for the winner in the closing stages, she stuck to her task well and, although her conqueror entered that race with a lowly rating of 71, substantial improvement is expected from Dermot Weld's charge. She'll probably need further and, perhaps, easier ground, to produce her best. |
