RICKPlaced in four of his five starts over hurdles and showed improvement in two recent runs at Punchestown, finishing third to Shinrock Paddy and then Quel Esprit, when meeting the winner at levels.

Looks more than capable of a maiden success, particularly when competing with a maiden allowance against penalised bumper-winners.

LIKE YOUR STYLE Another J P McManus-owned eye-catcher on debut, finished a promising fifth to Quel Esprit in a two and a half mile Punchestown maiden hurdle.

By Flemensfirth, this five-year-old looks well worth watching, whether he goes back for a bumper or continues to campaign over hurdles.

BEAU MICHAEL Prolific winner over hurdles as a juvenile for Adrian McGuinness before finding the going a bit tougher against older rivals.

Made a bright start to his chasing career at Punchestown, when thrown in at the deep end in the Grade 2 won by the exciting Sizing Europe.

Made the early running, lost his place but plugged on again late to finish third, beaten less than nine lengths. Only a five-year-old, should be capable of paying his way in this new sphere of activity.

WIT AND WISDOM Our last flat horse to follow in 2009, has run consistently in three starts at Dundalk and chased home 96-rated Velvet Flicker over six furlongs there on Wednesday.

Form of the race might be slightly misleading (eventual third and fourth set a strong pace), but will be strongly fancied to get off the mark in a six-furlong maiden at the County Louth track next Wednesday.
