PALMDALE -- Palmdale city officials honored five community workers recently at an annual Public Safety Appreciation Dinner.

The Antelope Valley

 was named Fireman of the Year for his work as an instructor in the department's training program and for helping to educate the public about fire safety.

Palmdale sheriff's station Deputy Anthony Delia was named Deputy of the Year for his work in the sheriff's training program.

Anthony Bonelli and Walter Jimison, both municipal code enforcement Code Enforcement is the act of enforcing a set of s, principles, or laws (especially written ones) and insuring observance of a system of norms or customs. Public officials presenting the awards included Mayor Jim Ledford, City Manager Steve Williams, State Sen. George Runner, R-Lancaster, and representatives from the award winners' departments.
