In New South Wales

7 Nov 1831      First detachment arrives Port Jackson to relieve 39th
                Regt.
1831/32         Capt Mason and detachment to Norfolk Island by steamer
                Governor Phillip.
January 1832    Detachment in VDL rejoins HQ in Sydney.
30 Aug 1832     HQ located at Parramatta; Detachments in charge of
                ironed gangs.
June 1833       HQ at Sydney.
15 Jan 1834     Mutiny at Norfolk Island put down by Capt Foster Fyans,
                2 soldiers killed, several injured, relief det fires on
                mutineers.
June 1834       HQ at Parramatta.
July 1834       Detachments located at Sydney, Parramatta, Bong Bong,
                Windsor, Maitland, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Emu
                Plains, Springwood, Weatherboard Hut, Cox's River,
                Wellington Valley, Bathurst, Port Macquarie, Norfolk
                Island, Mounted Police.
December 1835   Captain Foster Fyans and Detachment to Moreton Bay to
                relieve 17th.
September 1836  Captain William Lonsdale as police magistrate, 1
                Ensign, 32 OR, to settlement at Port Phillip.
1836            Library for OR of Regt established.
July 1837       Detachment at Moreton Bay relieved by 28th.
August 1837     Two Divisions 4th embarked for India.
26 Dec 1837     Last Division 4th embarked.
