45th Design Automation Conference to Host Six Collocated Events.

BOULDER, Colo. -- The 45th Design Automation Conference (DAC See D/A converter and discretionary access control.

DAC - Digital to Analog Converter
) has coordinated with organizers of six related industry events and conferences to collocate with DAC to provide greater benefit to participants. This year's DAC collocated events are: the Semiconductor Test Consortium; MEMOCODE MEMOCODE Conference on Formal Methods and Programming Models for Codesign  2008; 6th IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, New York, www.ieee.org) A membership organization that includes engineers, scientists and students in electronics and allied fields.  Symposium on Application Specific Processors; Gigascale Systems Research Center Quarterly Workshop (GSRC GSRC Gigascale Silicon Research Center
GSRC Georgia Society for Respiratory Care
GSRC Graduate Studies Research Center
); International Workshop on Hardware-Oriented Security and Trust (HOST-2008); and the IEEE/ACM IEEE/ACM Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers/Association for Computing Machinery (joint effort)  Symposium on Nanoscale Architectures (NANOARCH '08). The 45th DAC will be held June 8-13, 2008 at the Anaheim Convention Center Anaheim Convention Center is a major convention center in Anaheim, California. It is located across from the Disneyland Resort on Katella Avenue. Much of the Anaheim Convention Center has been renovated in recent years with state-of-the-art facilities.  in Anaheim, Calif.

"By bringing these events closer to DAC in both location and schedule, we hope to make it easier for our attendees to participate in multiple events," said Limor Fix, general chair, 45th Design Automation Conference. "We are very proud to be working with this group of organizations this year."

From June 4-6 at the Hilton Hotel in San Diego, the Semiconductor Test Consortium will host an interactive forum to meet industry colleagues worldwide and address solutions to the technical and business test-related challenges. The consortium will feature presentations from industry professionals throughout the semiconductor supply chain.

MEMOCODE 2008, scheduled for June 5-7 at the Anaheim Convention Center, will bring together researches and professional practitioners of modern hardware and software systems design to address how future design methods can benefit from new results on formal methods.

The 6th IEEE Symposium on Application Specific Processors, set for June 8-9 at the Anaheim Convention Center, will address system level and embedded design to address challenges and solutions facing today's designers.

The GSRC workshop, on June 8 at the Anaheim Hilton, will address the challenges of parameter variability and circuit reliability, power, concurrency Operations that are performed simultaneously within the computer. For example, dual-core CPUs provide complete overlapping of two independent processes. See dual core, hyperthreading, multiprocessing, multitasking, multithreading, SMP and MPP.

 and reliability.

On June 9 at the Anaheim Convention Center, the International Workshop on Hardware-Oriented Security and Trust (HOST-2008) will serve as an open forum to discuss the issues surrounding the vulnerabilities in chip design in military and financial systems.

From June 12-13, NANOARCH '08 will focus on new and emerging technologies. Serving as a forum for presentation and discussion, the conference will include technical sessions, panel discussions and a keynote address by Dr. James R. Heath of the California Institute of Technology California Institute of Technology, at Pasadena, Calif.; originally for men, became coeducational in 1970; founded 1891 as Throop Polytechnic Institute; called Throop College of Technology, 1913–20. . NANOARCH '08 will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center and registration is available at www.dac.com.

About DAC

The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and silicon solutions. A diverse worldwide community representing more than 1,500 organizations attends each year, from system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives to researchers and academicians from leading universities. Close to 60 technical sessions selected by a committee of electronic design experts offer information on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. A highlight is its Exhibition and Suite area with approximately 250 of the leading and emerging EDA, silicon and IP providers. The conference is sponsored by the Association for Computing (body) Association for Computing - (ACM, before 1997 - "Association for Computing Machinery") The largest and oldest international scientific and educational computer society in the industry.  Machinery's Special Interest Group on Design Automation (ACM/SIGDA), the Circuits and Systems Society and Council on Electronic Design Automation of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Not to be confused with the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE).

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or IEEE (pronounced as eye-triple-e
(IEEE/CASS/CEDA) and the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDA Consortium). More details are available at: www.dac.com
