ESPN.com Signs Up 10,000 Per Hour During Busiest Period

The figure surpasses last year's Tournament Challenge record of 402,000 signups, even though registration for this year's version does not close until Thursday, March 16. At its busiest, ESPN.com has been signing up 10,000 Tournament Challenge players per hour for the largest tournament on the Internet.

Buoyed by the Tournament Challenge and ESPN.com's comprehensive tourney coverage, ESPN Internet Group (EIG) accumulated 42.4 million page views and 4.7 million visits on Monday, March 13. By comparison, EIG's busiest day during the 1999 NCAA Tournament, Thursday, March 11, resulted in 22.3 million impressions and 3.4 million visits.
