Never-before-seen-on-national-television treasures from the state of New Jersey will be introduced to 62 million U.S. cable households when QVC continues its series of 50 broadcasts for "The '97 Quest for Verb 1. quest for - go in search of or hunt for; "pursue a hobby"

Live from the New Jersey State Museum, the three-hour special debuts SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1997 (3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. EST). During the program, twenty native New Jersey businesses and their merchandise compete to be named "Best of Show," "First Runner-Up," and "Second Runner-Up" (selections will be based on total on-air sales and on long-term sales potential on QVC).

New Jersey is the forty-first stop on The QVC Local's year-long 50-state-in-50-week tour. The three-hour live television special will highlight American-made products produced by small businesses and entrepreneurs from the state of New Jersey. QVC hosts Jill Bauer, Leah Williams and Paul Kelley will be on hand to present the products and to interview the "homegrown" stars of the state who produced them. The broadcast is open to the public and admission is free.

"The '97 Quest for America's Best -- QVC's 50 in 50 Tour" is a cross-country search to discover 1,000 of the best new American-made products. Selected by a team of QVC Local buyers at a series of statewide trade shows, the winning 20 products from each state will then be showcased on a live QVC special.

By year's end, QVC will present 50 programs -- one a week -- each from a scenic location within the state. The shows will intersperse in·ter·sperse
