4-YEAR-OLD CARRIED ONTO JET BRINGS CRASH DEATH TOLL TO 110.

A child who was carried onto ValuJet Flight 592 was added to the airline's passenger list Wednesday, bringing the crash toll to 110.

The carrier said Mahamad Darbor and Saeeda Alihassan Darbor, of Atlanta, brought their 4-year-old child Daniel Darbor onto the airplane, which plunged into the Everglades shortly after take off Saturday from Miami International Airport.

ValuJet said Daniel was a girl whose name was pronounced ``Danielle.''

But WXIA-TV in Atlanta reported that Daryoush Behroozi, a friend of the Darbors, said the child was a boy.

Calls to ValuJet late Wednesday to clear up the discrepancy were not returned.

Daniel was not identified earlier because the child was not listed on the flight manifest, said Gregg Kenyon, spokesman for ValuJet in Atlanta. Only ticketed passengers are listed, and children under the age of 2 don't require an airplane ticket if they are carried by an adult.

At age 4, Daniel should have been a ticketed passenger, and Kenyon said the airline is investigating why the child was not. Airline officials plan to speak with those working the gate when the Darbors boarded.

The child's grandparents, who live somewhere in the Middle East, told airline officials Daniel was 4.

ValuJet officials learned there might have been another passenger from friends of the Darbors, who said they thought the couple would have been traveling with a child.

The airline couldn't immediatly confirm that because the grandparents ive overseas.
