 16-year-old.

The pictures sent shockwaves across Britain when they were shown on national TV.

Graw pleaded guilty to kidnap at an earlier hearing and yesterday showed little emotion as he sat in the dock watching the film.

A court heard how the girl was walking home at3.15amin June last year when she was approached by Graw, of Great Heck Great Heck is a small village that lies a few miles south of Selby, North Yorkshire, England.

The village achieved notoriety due to the Selby rail crash.

Coordinates:
,Yorkshire.

After trying to engage her in conversation, he grabbed her and tried to carry her into bushes.

He let her go when she screamed and struggled. The dramatic inci-dent was captured on CCTV when an off-duty police officer had seen the girl walking alone moments earlier and alerted colleagues.

Camera operators trained their equipment on the area in Doncaster and patrol cars were despatched.

The victim's family, however, said her life had been ruined by the ordeal. She now rarely left home and slept for long periods.

Her sister said the teenager was so upset she did not even want to know the outcome of the case. At Sheffield Crown Court, judge Jackie Davies told Graw she was satisfied his motives were to harm her sexually or physically or both.

She said:'The complainant A plaintiff; a person who commences a civil lawsuit against another, known as the defendant, in order to remedy an alleged wrong. An individual who files a written accusation with the police charging a suspect with the commission of a crime and providing facts to support the allegation  herself believed that you were going to rape her. No court can overlook the terror this young girl must have felt in those moments.'

The judge ordered him to serve an extended period of two years on licence after he was released.
