Other former officials facing embezzlement charges include: Brian V. Carter, 41, former secretary-treasurer of the Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy Workers Union Local 307 in Bell, accused of embezzling $5,968. Herminio Louis Garcia Sr., 48, former president of the Utility Workers Union Local 522 in Moreno Valley Moreno Valley (mərē`nō), city (1990 pop. 118,779), Riverside co., S Calif., inc. 1984. In 1990, Moreno Valley was California's fastest-growing city, with a population increase of more than 300% between 1980 and 1990, but major reductions , accused of embezzling $7,768. Lambey, 42, former secretary-treasurer of the United Plant Guard Workers Union Local 155 in Corona, accused of embezzling $9,189. A preliminary hearing for Carter, Coupe and Garcia is scheduled for Nov. 15. Each faces up to six years in prison. |
