The site has three major areas and can be easily navigated in a variety of ways. In the Discover area, kids can read stories behind the design of various things in the world and about the designers who created them--both contemporary and historical. The main area of the site is the Design section where kids get to become designers themselves by using the online tools and resources available to respond to certain challenges like "Design a Personal Explorer Pod." Students can then submit their designs for inclusion in an online gallery and see what others have created. The third area, Discuss, offers students a chance to discuss various issues about design that are posed by three animated characters, and to read what others have to say about the same topics.
