3am: Jo's one less S..Byline: Jessica Callan, Eva Simpson, Suzanne Kerins S CLUB really won't want to hear this news - Jo O'Meara is ready to quit. Sadly, the blonde singer has finally tired of being part of a group and wants to go it alone. Our spy overheard the curvaceous cur·va·ceous adj. Talented Jo frequently sings lead for the group, so it's no surprise she would like a little individual success. "I love being in the band, but it's time to go it alone. I want to have a shot at a solo career," she told a friend. We don't reckon the ambitious lady will be off for a while though. S Club recently signed an extremely lucrative deal with Sony Pictures for their debut movie Seeing Double. It was penned by Kim Fuller who wrote the disastrous Spice World. Shooting doesn't begin until the autumn so we think it's unlikely Jo will walk out before this well-deserved cash reward. Even sexy Rachel Stevens - who is set to wed Holby City star Jeremy Edwards next Valentine's Day - recently moaned about the difficulties of spending so much time away from loved ones. A spokesperson for S Club told us: "Jo has recorded a solo song for the soundtrack of the forthcoming film The Guru whilst remaining committed to S Club. Their fourth album is planned for later this year and their movie and third UK tour are planned for 2003." Whatever you say. |
