Previously, Mr. Pope was vice president of worldwide sales and services at Open Market, Inc., a Burlington-based company focused on e-business solutions that enable universal customer relationship management (UCRM) through an integrated suite of applications for managing online content, commerce and e-marketing worldwide. At Open Market he was responsible for the combined sales, consulting, and services organization and the development of high-level sales strategy.

Mr. Pope played a major role in building Open Market's worldwide sales organization, establishing offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Milan, Sydney, and Tokyo and distributorships in Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Africa South Africa, Afrikaans Suid-Afrika, officially Republic of South Africa, republic (2005 est. pop. 44,344,000), 471,442 sq mi (1,221,037 sq km), S Africa. .
