3M'S ROBERTSON TO RETIRE

 ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Jerry E. Robertson, 3M (NYSE: MMM) executive vice president, Life Services Sector and Corporate Services, announced today his intention to retire, effective March 1, 1994. Robertson is responsible for managing the $4 billion Life Sciences Sector, which includes 3M's health care and traffic and personal safety product lines, and for the company's corporate marketing and public affairs functions.
 Robertson joined 3M's Central Research Laboratories in 1963 as a medicinal chemist. He has held many significant management positions, including vice president and general manager of both the Surgical Products Division and Riker Laboratories. He served as group vice president for Health Care Products and Services. Robertson was named executive vice president, Life Sciences Sector, in 1984.
 "Jerry played a key role in the development and growth of our health care business. The Life Sciences Sector has been a significant and consistent contributor to 3M's sales and profits growth. He leaves these businesses well positioned for the future," said L.D. DeSimone, 3M chairman and CEO.
 Announcements on the future management of Life Sciences and Corporate Marketing and Public Affairs are anticipated next week.
