These mobile users will be pushed information from the 3eTI Telematics Data Center to enhance their operational efficiency with better communication and location awareness Location awareness, or more commonly "location-aware", is a general term used for something that can show that it is aware of your current location. The Emergency Management Community will conduct a wide-area operational test in Spring 2001 where mobile users will be able to both push and pull information that will be relevant to their immediate locations. Emergency supervisors will be able to remotely track their emergency response personnel to better coordinate their activities.

Until now, wireless transmit and receive operations, as well as, GPS functionality, have been available as separate products for the PalmOS devices. 3eTI, with The Glove is the first company to successfully integrate and interoperate See interoperable.  all of these communications features in a single device. Before The Glove users had to select which functionality they preferred in their handheld device. Previously, the most accurate positioning technology available to wireless PalmOS users was limited, since the location resolution responded with information targeted to the nearest zip code zip code

System of postal-zone codes (zip stands for “zone improvement plan”) introduced in the U.S. in 1963 to improve mail delivery and exploit electronic reading and sorting capabilities.
. In contrast, The Glove provides highly accurate, location-specific information that is delivered dynamically and efficiently to users of PalmOS TM devices.
