3Dlabs Appoints James Carrington Marketing Director for GLINT Products; Former Autodesk executive to manage GLINT vendor relationships and promotional efforts.

, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 27, 1996--3Dlabs(R) Inc. today announced the appointment of James Carrington as director of marketing for GLINT A legacy family of 2D and 3D processors from 3D Labs, Inc., a division of Creative Technology Ltd., Milpitas, CA (www.3dlabs.com) that were widely used in high-end display adapters. (R) products, a new position within the company. Mr. Carrington was previously with Autodesk(R) as the company's AutoCAD(R) API product manager, with broad-ranging responsibilities including marketing and evangelism of the Heidi(TM) 3D graphics API and for strategic developer relations.

At 3Dlabs, Mr. Carrington will be responsible for managing the company's independent software vendor (ISV (Independent Software Vendor) A person or company that develops software. It implies an organization that specializes in software only and is not part of a computer systems or hardware manufacturer. ) program and promoting its GLINT and PERMEDIA(TM) NT products for CAD, multimedia authoring, GIS and for other professional 3D markets.
