) today announced it has broadened the compatibility of its ThermoJet(R) printer client software to run on Windows(R) 98, 2000 and Millennium Edition operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics. 3D Systems will bundle the new software with each ThermoJet printer purchase and will site-license it for unlimited installations on customer workstations.

"Our upgrade of the ThermoJet printer software is part of our ongoing program to ensure that customers can continue to benefit from this technology using the most current Windows operating systems," said Clark Crawford, senior director of business development for office systems.

"Since the ThermoJet printer can be networked to multiple computer-aided design computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), form of automation that helps designers prepare drawings, specifications, parts lists, and other design-related elements using special graphics- and calculations-intensive  (CAD) workstations, the additional Windows operating systems increase the printer's flexibility. With the upgraded software, our smaller customers -- perhaps with only one CAD workstation -- now can use the printer with their existing Windows operating systems," Crawford said.
