Under the settlement, the department said 3D and DTM must license their rapid prototyping Building a part one layer at a time using a method of additive fabrication such as 3D printing. 3D Systems is based in Delaware and operates out of offices in the Valencia Industrial Center. DTM is headquartered in Austin.

Service said he expects to move quickly to complete the merger as 3D has been buying up DTM stock. The combined companies will maintain facilities in Austin and Valencia.

3D will conduct a conference call at 10 a.m. today with shareholders.
