3D SYSTEMS REPORTS GAINS IN REVENUES.

VALENCIA - 3D Systems, which announced plans this week to relocate from Valencia to South Carolina, boasted on Friday a third-quarter increase in overall revenue of 9 percent.

Revenue from systems and other products increased by more than 10 percent from June through September. Officials with the company, which manufactures prototyping equipment, attributed the success to the introduction of new products.

The company did report a $800,000 loss in operating income, reflecting lower margins associated with its service business, higher research and development expenses and others costs.

Gross profit increased by 6 percent, to $14.9 million, over the third quarter of 2004.

York County in South Carolina was impressed enough with the company to agree last week to give 3D Systems $4 million in tax breaks over 20 years and provide about $460,000 in infrastructure improvements such as storm drains and roads if the company would relocate. 3D agreed to consolidate its Valencia headquarters and Colorado operations in Rock Hill, S.C., just outside Charlotte, N.C. The move is expected to be complete next September.

York Technical College is working with the company and state and local governments to build a $2.7 million training center.

``South Carolina will provide us with a favorable business climate, significant investment and tax benefits and a sustained lower cost of doing business,'' said Abe Reichental, president and chief executive officer.
