3D/EYE TriSpectives delivers the first complete desktop 3D solution; premier 3D software available immediately through Ingram and more than 500 computer outlets nationwide.

ITHACA Ithaca, city, United States
Ithaca (ĭth`əkə), city (1990 pop. 29,541), seat of Tompkins co., S central N.Y., at the southern end of Cayuga Lake, in the Finger Lakes region; settled 1789, inc. as a city 1888.
, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 1995--3D/EYE Inc., the leader in 3D technology, Tuesday announced the shipment of TriSpectives and TriSpectives Professional.

TriSpectives is a Windows 95/Windows NT 3D design program that provides 3D modeling, illustration and animation, with specific application to graphics design, product design and multimedia content development. Expected street prices for TriSpectives and TriSpectives Professional are $300 and $500, respectively.

TriSpectives makes 3D usable by combining the most popular elements from many different software categories, including:

o Drag-and-Drop

-- makes creating any object or image a visual, fast and

intuitive process

o Microsoft Office Interface

-- Microsoft Word or Excel users already understand much of

TriSpectives

o Microsoft Windows 95 Standards

-- property sheets allows layering of functionality

o ACIS-based Solid Modeling

-- ensures 100 percent compatibility with major CAD systems

Investing in the Future

"The shipment of TriSpectives is the first milestone in 3D/EYE's vision to put intuitive, powerful 3D software on every desktop PC," said Samir Hanna, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of 3D/EYE. "We've combined more than 400 years of 3D product development experience with a superior operating system to reset the expectations for the 3D category -- which 3D/EYE will continue to pioneer for many years to come."

Previous to TriSpectives, 3D has been more promise than results -- with only the most difficult-to-use tools able to produce intelligent output. 3D/EYE's pioneering concept of IntelliShapes is the most significant breakthrough in 3D technology in the last 10 years. IntelliShapes, which provide the "building blocks" for TriSpectives, allows corporations and individual users to create unlimited intelligent content to be used in any document in the future.

As an example, when a space planner designs a kitchen, time could be saved and quality improved by accessing the full 3D models of the cabinets, windows and furniture originally created by the manufacturers from Web Sites on the Internet. Immediate support of this type of data exchange is the larger impact TriSpectives brings to the 3D market, which is far beyond a standalone shrinkwrap software product. Creation of today's designs in TriSpectives is truly an investment in the future communication of those designs.

Customers and Early Reviews Forecast a Clear Winner

3D/EYE TriSpectives has gained unprecedented acceptance among both the 1,000+ companies acting as beta testers, and product reviewers throughout the graphics design, product design and multimedia content development markets.

"TriSpectives is the coolest product I've seen," said Karl Wood, manager of CAE/CIM services at Dana Corp. "No other product available today can be used simultaneously by our sales, marketing and engineering departments. TriSpectives allows us to use 3D for more than we'd ever imagined."

In addition to recognition from customers, early product reviews in magazines such as BYTE, CADalyst and Windows Sources have highlighted the breakthrough functionality of TriSpectives.

"If you're looking for brand new software that deserves the

killer-app label, check out TriSpectives...(TriSpectives)

may help move 3D illustration into the mainstream."

- Stan Diehl, BYTE Magazine, Oct. 1995

"I've wondered when when a Pro/E killer would show up in the

market...I don't have to wonder anymore...the product will

be called TriSpectives from 3D/EYE Inc."

- Evan Yares, CADalyst, July 1995

"Behind the drag-and-drop interface lies a surprising amount

of power and control for both illustrators CADers, thanks to

the use of an ACIS-based modeling engine and property sheets."

- Lori Grunin, Windows Sources, Oct. 1995

TriSpectives Available Immediately Through Expanded Distribution Channels

In addition to being widely available through retail and catalog outlets, 3D/EYE recently signed a distribution contract with Ingram. Details of the contract include a "Buy One, Get One Free "Buy one, get one free" is a common form of sales promotion. While rarely presented to customers in acronym form, this marketing technique is universally known in the marketing industry by the acronym BOGOF " promotion ending Nov. 17 on TriSpectives Professional available to software resellers and retailers nationwide. 3D/EYE will also participate in co-selling of major accounts, and will drive demand for TriSpectives and TriSpectives Professional with an aggressive advertising schedule in publications such as PC Magazine, Windows Sources, Publish and Computer Aided Engineering (application) Computer Aided Engineering - (CAE) Use of computers to help with all phases of engineering design work. Like computer aided design, but also involving the conceptual and analytical design steps. .

3D/EYE is also providing 100,000 trial CD-ROMs of TriSpectives to resellers and end users nationwide. The trial version, which includes a multimedia presentation and a 30-day version of the full shipping software, is available to resellers by calling 3D/EYE at 800/WIN95-3D, ext. 2. Customers may also purchase the trial version via the same 800 number.
