This "3Com Approved" level, by invitation only, is awarded to companies whose products are commercially deployed, rigorously tested and approved by 3Com. CrystalVoice is also approved to sell its software through 3Com's channel of authorized VoIP resellers. The VSPP has been created by 3Com to meet reseller sales demand that requires unique collaboration with application developers.

Using CrystalVoice's Remote Extension product allows a remote user's personal computer (PC) to become a remote 3Com NBX (Network Branch EXchange) A family of IP-based telephony systems from 3Com. The name was derived from "PBX," the traditional name for an enterprise telephone switch. (R) extension, designed to enable the user to receive calls, dial other corporate extensions and place local and long-distance phone calls over any Internet connection, including wireless, dial-up, broadband or even satellite.
