3Com Announces Winners of `Learning Through Technology' Competition; Schools Throughout Scotland To Receive 250,000 Pounds Of 3Com-R- Equipment.

3Com is currently shipping the equipment to schools around Scotland after they were selected through a competition earlier in the year. The initiative was run in conjunction with National Grid for Learning Not to be confused with Learning Grid.

The National Grid for Learning (NGfL) was a United Kingdom Government-funded gateway to educational resources on the Internet. It featured many individually selected links to resources and materials deemed to be of high quality.
 Scotland and Learning + Teaching Scotland and is part of 3Com's global Urban Challenge Project, which is dedicated to donating equipment to extend 21st century communications throughout communities. The entrants were judged on two key areas of vision and innovation.

Each school is receiving the most innovative networking hardware Networking hardware typically refers to equipment facilitating the use of a computer network.
