3Com Corporation (Nasdaq:COMS) today announced the selection of its Visitor and Community Networks (VCN) System by Computer Telephony Magazine as product of the year for 2000. The prestigious tribute highlights the VCN System as a powerful yet flexible broadband offering for easily provisioning Internet access and LAN/IP telephony, while laying the foundation for additional network-based services to multi-unit buildings such as hotels, apartments, condominiums and office buildings. Since its introduction in June of 2000, the 3Com(R) VCN System has been deployed at all three presidential debate locations, providing broadband access to the 1000-plus debate press corps as well as deployed by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in multi-family dwelling units and hotels throughout the world.
