New Fund Becomes 20th Angel Fund in RAIN Source([R]) Capital's Growing Network for Angel Investors 

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- A group of angel investors and St. Paul, Minn.-based RAIN Source([R]) Capital have formed 3C Capital Partners, LLC, in Northfield, Minn. The new fund is currently capitalized at nearly $800,000 and has 27 members, including local angel investors, institutions, and RAIN Source Capital, which have pooled their investment dollars to create the fund. The 3C Capital Partners fund, named after Northfield's motto of "Colleges, Cows and Contentment," will invest primarily in local companies located in Northfield and the surrounding area.

Brett Reese, CEO of Northfield Automation Systems, a local manufacturing company, serves as the fund's chairman. "It's been a dream of mine to create an angel fund in Northfield," he said. "The formation of 3C Capital Partners, a certified RAIN([R]) fund, is a valuable addition to this community, supporting promising, emerging companies in need of capital, while also providing networking opportunities for community-minded investors to learn, have fun and earn a return on their investment."

3C Capital Partners is the 20th RAIN fund to be formed through RAIN Source Capital, which includes a multi-state network of angel funds. Each individual RAIN fund determines what industries it will focus on, and the type and level of financing to provide, based on the interests and expertise of its members. The RAIN funds are also able to draw upon the expertise, experience and deal flow from across the network. In addition to investing in local companies, 3C Capital Partners may also co-invest with other RAIN funds.
