"Only 361 establishments received Four Stars from the Mobil Travel Guide for 1993," said Ruth Walker, Mobil Travel Guide Manager. "They are an elite group -- the top two percent of more than 21,000 properties listed in the Mobil Travel Guide this year."
Four Stars are not awarded lightly by the Guide. Lodgings must demonstrate style and personality, reflected in first-class accommodations. Superb maintenance and housekeeping should complement high-quality furnishings and accessories, thereby making the Four-Star establishment "worth a special trip." Four-Star resorts must have planned outdoor activities for guests of all ages.
Four-Star restaurants provide each guest a special dining experience, characterized by an attractive and elegant setting, highly specialized professional service and exquisitely prepared and presented dishes. Each course reflects the expertise of a chef whose management of the kitchen demonstrates a commitment to creative cuisine and fine food.
"The Four-Star rating is not automatically renewed each year," said Ms. Walker. "Four-Star properties undergo annual inspections and visits by senior evaluators to insure that the Four-Star criteria are consistently being met. Travelers visiting a Four-Star establishment in Florida should expect an outstanding dining or lodging experience."
