THE wreckage of a double-decker bus A double-decker bus is a bus that has two levels. While double-decker long-distance coaches are in widespread use around the world, double-decker city buses are less common.  is hoisted clear after a 60mph express train sliced through it,killing 33 passengers in Hungary Hungary, Hung. Magyarország, officially Republic of Hungary, republic (2005 est. pop. 10,007,000), 35,919 sq mi (93,030 sq km), central Europe. .

The bus had apparently driven through a flashing rail crossing warning light in Siofok near Lake Balaton, south of Budapest, in one of Hungary's worst transport disasters.

The impact propelled the front of the bus 50 yards while the other half burst into flames after being dragged 160 yards by the train.

Hospital doctor Vilmos Olah said a similar crash between a bus and a train happened at the same crossing in 1980 when 24 Hungarians were killed.

``I don't know how many people will have to die before they put a proper crossing there.''
