3000 London police personnel to counter G-20 protesters.

London, Mar.23 (ANI): At least 3,000 police will be deployed across London to protect President Obama and leaders of 19 other nations during their attendance at the Group of Twenty Summit.

Intelligence gathered so far suggest that an alliance of anarchists, anti-globalization groups and environmentalists intend to bring London to a standstill during the event through stunts ranging from building giant sand pits in the streets to scaling skyscrapers in the city's financial district.

The protesters have "some very clever people," Scotland Yard Scotland Yard, headquarters of the London Metropolitan Police. The term is often used, popularly, to refer to one branch, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Named after a short street in London, the site of a palace used in the 12th cent.  Commander Bob Broadhurst told reporters here on Sunday.

The world's top dignitaries will meet on April 2-3 in the Docklands area of East London, where a ring of police and steel will cordon off the ExCel center for an estimated 40 delegations to go to work trying to resolve the deepening global financial crises.

Authorities are taking the protesters' threats seriously, considering the chaos they could cause if they succeed. (ANI)
