300 mmcfd gas sought for textile industry.


ISLAMABAD, October 30, 2009 (Balochistan Times ): Representatives of the textile sector met Textile Minister Rana Farooq and called for 300 mmcfd gas to meet the export target of this crucial industry. The meeting was held in the backdrop of Federal Governments overtures in which a committee headed by Petroleum Minister was formed to resolve the issue of gas load-shedding for the textile sector during the upcoming winter. The committee is entrusted the task of determining the priority sectors for gas supply in load-shedding timings, it was leant on Friday. Responding to the representative, the Minister acknowledged the pivotal role of textile industry in countrys economy, and assured of according importance as well as co-operation by the government.
