 announced Wednesday the filing of 30 criminal cases, including 21 in the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

His office has been working with officials from the Contractors State License Board investigating complaints against contractors that have included substandard work, jobs that were never finished and work that was never performed, Delgadillo said.

Delgadillo's office said restitution will be sought for the victims. If convicted, contractors could face fines of up to $1,000 and six months in county jail for each count.

The state Senate Oversight Committee ranks contractor fraud among the top five consumer complaints in California.
