Turned out, Beck was right.

Jacobsen and McCann also hit consecutive homers in the third.

``That was something else,'' Jacobsen said. ``That was cool.''

Agoura used to be the league's doormat. But the Chargers improved to 2-2-1 in league, 11-5-1 overall and moved ahead of the preseason favorite Warriors (7-6, 1-2) in the Marmonte standings.

``It's always been, `Oh, Agoura, put a `W' on your sheet,' '' McCann said. ``I haven't been part of a winning baseball team until now. It's pretty fun.''

After junior left-hander Brian Ashford (5-2) retired the Warriors in order in the first, the Chargers jumped on Westlake's Ethan East.

East struck out Chris Poling looking, but then Jeff Gould walked and Falco ripped his seventh homer way over the left-field fence. Jacobsen then hit line drive out to center field (``I hit its 12 feet high the whole way,'' Jacobsen said) and McCann hit an 0-2 pitch to nearly the same spot that Jacobsen's went out.

But they struggled offensively, getting just two hits off Ashford until a four-run fifth.

Westlake also had two runners thrown out on the bases in the second and left the bases loaded in the third.

``I felt good coming into this game,'' Westlake coach Chuck Berrington said. ``Agoura came out and beat us, plain and simple.''
