3-D state maps.


The Project Science Social Studies

Around the holidays, many of your students will be taking family trips to visit far-off relatives. Even if they're staying put right at home, this is a great time to learn U.S. geography the hands-on way. Each student picks a state. Their topographical maps See under Cadastral. - Topographical surveying. See under Surveying.

 show off their knowledge of mountains, lakes, and towns.

How To Make It

1. Have students pick their favorite states and give them a list of facts to research, such as the five largest cities, highest mountain, and biggest industries.

2. Give each student a sturdy sturdy
